We (the fairboard) are excited to announce that the groundbreaking for the new Ag Center which will replace the Junior Fair Building is set for March 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will take place by the flagpole on the east side of the Junior Fair Building.

Right, wrong or indifferent, the fairboard made the decision to not deficit spend. Projected cost: $3,000,000. It took time to save the money! The building will house the fair office, Agricultural Hall of Fame, and banquet hall for seating 400 plus.

New 150x350 covered riding arena (built so it can be enclosed in the future should the funds become available) plus an identical size uncovered lit arena for summer and night time use. These are massive in size and can handle any show. Horse barns are on the drawing board as well.

4-H will be the primary residence of this building which includes multiple meeting rooms and the Ag Hall of Fame can host more than 80 for meetings and act as a learning center. More good to come...

Bed tax meeting was one of the best to date last night. Committee is focused on reaching an October 1 ground-breaking for the 4H Ag Center. The Delaware County Agricultural hall-of-fame located in the center of the building is about 3,200 sq. ft. (one Committee member suggestion we hang an antique tractor from the ceiling😎). The Conference area can seat over 500 as it stands right now... which would give the 4H groups an additional 2,000 sq. ft. above what they currently have during the fair.

Third meeting tonight (Bed Tax committee) to work towards the construction of a new 4H Agricultural Center. The committee hopes to have "ground breaking" just after the fair... but a lot depends on the Constrution process.

New security cameras are now in place (Phase I). More to be installed in the coming months.

Expansion of fiber optics continues throughout the grounds.

Water bills: 16 mos. ago water bills where running as high as $15,000+ per Month- Now $1,000. Money well spent!
