A challenging fit, a dedicated team, and a community we’re grateful to serve. 💙

This duplicate Anchor Industries Defender Mesh cover installation at a condominium complex in Clayton, MO, involved more than a straightforward replacement.

We installed 15 new anchors around the pool and new cabling around the brick fountain area to replace the previous cover’s up-and-over setup. The fountain area required extra care due to the old, brittle brickwork. Through several rounds of adjustments, our team carefully refined the cable placement and tension to achieve the best fit possible. The community plans to replace the brickwork next year.

Why blow out pool lines before winter? Air pushes trapped water out of the plumbing to help reduce freeze damage. Water left in pool lines can freeze, expand, and crack pipes.

Choosing a mesh pool cover? Consider both its color and how much sunlight the fabric blocks. ☀️

Color helps your cover complement your backyard. The fabric’s light-blockage rating tells you how much sunlight reaches the water.

Anchor Industries Defender Mesh offers five colors - Green, Black, Blue, Charcoal, and Tan - and is rated to block 98% of sunlight while allowing water to drain through. Less sunlight can help limit algae growth, though proper water chemistry and seasonal care still matter.

A custom pool cover starts with the pool—and the surfaces around it. 📏🍂

We installed this Anchor Industries Defender Mesh pool cover in Tan in St. Charles, MO.

One detail you might not notice in the finished photos: this pool had ground tubes around the entire cover, with different lengths in different areas:
▪️ 9-inch tubes in the pavers
▪️ 15-inch tubes in the planter area

Why does that matter? Planning a pool cover involves more than its shape and size. The surrounding pavers, landscaping, and anchor locations also need to be considered when planning how the cover attaches.

These tube lengths were used on this particular pool; each installation needs its own assessment.

A better-fitting replacement cover starts with accurate measurements. 📏

We installed this Anchor Industries Cross Star solid replacement cover in tan and completed the pool closing in Chesterfield, MO. The previous cover didn’t fit correctly around the waterfall, so we measured the pool itself and the existing anchor locations instead of using the old cover as the template.

We then used a cable system at the waterfall to achieve a snug, secure fit around the stonework.

The takeaway: when an old cover doesn’t fit properly, duplicating it can carry those same problems into the replacement. Fresh measurements help account for the pool’s shape, anchor placement, and features like waterfalls.
