Mountain Biking: 10 AM–6 PM⁠

Beginning October 2, mountain biking hours will shift to 10 AM–5 PM.⁠

Hours and operations are weather permitting. Any weather-related closures or updates will be shared on our social channels.⁠

New to lift service mountain biking? Loading your bike onto the chairlift is easier than it looks.

Before you head up, try out the practice rack near the bottom chairlift loading zone to get comfortable lifting and placing your bike on the carrier.

When it’s your turn, load your bike first, then hop on the chair behind it. Your bike rides separately, and our crew will unload it for you at the top.

Need a hand? Just ask one of our lifties. Helen gives us a great demonstration here!

A little practice and you’ll be ready to hit the trails.

We love seeing members of our Spirit Mountain family get the recognition they deserve.⁠

If you spend enough time on the mountain, chances are you’ll run into a member of the Hislop family. Between patrolling, mountain biking, coaching, instructing, and spending plenty of family time on the mountain, they have made Spirit part of their family’s life. ⁠
⁠
Aaron and Johanna Hislop have spent more than twenty years volunteering with the National Ski Patrol and their family has built a life in Duluth around many of the things they love. Over the years, they’ve passed that love of outdoor recreation on to their kids and continued giving back to the community around them. You may have even spotted the Hislops out on the mountain or more recently at the annua Duluth Trails Festival.⁠

We’re proud to have the Hislops as part of our Spirit Mountain family and excited to see them featured in the August issue of Duluth Living. Their years of volunteering, coaching and involvement in the outdoor community are part of what keeps Spirit safe, welcoming and full of adventure.
