🏡 Guests and hosts should be on the same team.

With Airbnb’s recent changes, there’s been a lot of discussion about house rules and checkout chores. As a host, I understand why guests don’t want to spend the last morning of their vacation working through a long cleaning list. I want my guests to relax and enjoy their stay!

But for many hosts, the bigger concern isn’t the chores. It’s being able to protect the properties we’ve personally invested in, as well as the homes owners have entrusted to our care. We also need to know who is staying in our homes and be able to communicate when someone needs help-whether they’re locked out, experiencing a power outage, or simply have a question.

I love getting to know my guests and helping make their visits special. And when something goes wrong, we show up to help. ❤️

Guests deserve fairness, privacy, and a welcoming experience. Hosts deserve to feel heard and have practical ways to protect the homes in their care. BOTH matter.

I hope we can move away from the “guest versus host” conversation and remember that there are people on both sides of every reservation. A little understanding and respect can go a long way. 🏡
