We had a blast on our maiden Grand Canyon rim to rim hike with Mission:Hike, a ministry that uses backpacking trips as therapy for vets with PTSD. Awesome trip with an awesome group who really care about our vets!

Our trip was a modified rim-to-rim as we could not pull permits for bright angel campground, so instead, we hiked down to the river by the hermit trail (trail head is at hermits rest) and then west to to trail to an overnight at monument creek. Took tonto trail over to bright angel trail and then up to Grand Canyon village. About 25 miles and 5200’ of elevation gain. Fantastic route with a lot less people, which allowed us to take in the majesty of the Grand Canyon without any lot of day hikers and commotion to spoil the solitude. We will do it this way again as it was more challenging than a tradition rim-to-rim. Hermit trail and tonto trails are legit backcountry backpacking trails, not mule paths with stairs!

As the one of the new owners of this company, I have been drooling over many of the knives we offer. I recently added the Japanese Claw knife as my EDC knife. I wanted a pocket clip on the knife, but it comes with a sheath instead. Initially, I was bummed. But to my utter joy, I discovered that if I soaked the sheath in water to make it maleable, I could easily flip the knife around in the sheath and carry it INSIDE my right pocket as a "pocket" knife would but the sheath stays in the pocket resulting in protection for other items I put in my pocket and without ruining my pants with the constant in/out of the knife. And, I LOVE the knife itself. Super sharp, gorgeous to look at with the Damascus steel blade and its "flowing water" aesthetic...and it gets tons of comments too! VERY well made. My son and my brother-in-law liked it so much, they bought one too! Check it out on our website. We'll be adding a product review video soon!
