✨Carl Perkins Field trip was ah-mazing! We had over 20 students interested in attending after graduation. Such an incredible opportunity for young adults and their parents alike! If you don’t know about all the great opportunities this faculty and staff provide, please research. Can’t wait to go back! ✨✨

WOW and AspYre LLC attended OCTC to tour their facilities and learn about their Career and Life Skills Certificate. A program that supports students who want to attend college to improve employability and explore career opportunities, while also offering them a college experience. Students also enjoyed a presentation from enrolled students about the program and what it has achieved for them.

It’s been a great start to World of Work! Meant to post sooner, but we have been busy! So many businesses in our county that support our students. Thanks to
McDonald’s, OC Bus Garage, New Beginnings Salon, OC Library, Bluegrass Vet, Hardee’s, Dairy Queen, OC Wellness Center and Sarah’s Boutique! More pics to come very soon!

Soooo many people with disabilities have incredible talent, are dedicated and more than capable to do the actual work. But, far too often they are not even given the opportunity. Job coaches consistently refer people to work at grocery stores bagging groceries or at a hotel cleaning rooms, without any regard for what their possibilities actually are. We need job coaches to dig deep into industries and educate them on the enormous benefits of employing people with disabilities.
And then we need those same industries to give this growing population of individuals a chance to show what they can learn and do.

We had a wonderful time touring Carl Perkins Vocational Center in Thelma, Kentucky! Our students enjoyed hearing about all the opportunities the center provided for them. We have had great success enrolling students and getting them prepared for their future after graduation! Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip successful! 🦅

🐾Jade Frazier🐾
Jade is a Junior at OCHS. She has 2 dogs, Belle and Gage. Jade loves to read when she has free time.
Every Tuesday Jade comes to our clinic and helps us out with whatever we ask her to do. Her smile and bubbly personality is contagious. The short time she is there, she brings smiles and laughter to us all. Everyone needs a Jade in their live.
