We recently had the pleasure of hosting Brian Dubie, Vermont's 80th Lt. Governor (2003-2011), and his delightful family!

As some of you know, Spooner House holds a special place in Vermont's history, as it was once the home of Paul Spooner, who, among other titles, served as the 3rd Lt. Governor of the Vermont Republic (1782-1787). There have been 216 years between their service and the group showed such genuine interest in this connection, even visiting Spooner’s headstone nearby.

Thank you, Brian, Penny, Martha, and Dennis, for being such gracious and engaging guests. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

🧹 July 23, 1913, 111 years and 4 days ago, during the grand days of Fairview Farm, a guest, Lucy Westcott, sent this postcard:
"There are hardwood floors in the parlor drawing rooms and some of the sleeping rooms... The house is kept immaculate. Cleaned with a vacuum cleaner once a week."
Although the South parlor is a guest kitchen now, I assure you it is still vacuumed at least that much! 🧹
