Photos of Point Beach State Forest. What a beautiful place

As I wrap up my vacation, I wanted to share. The first half was camping at Point Beach State Forest. (Detailed review on my blog to follow) The weather was PERFECT. Highs around the mid-70s. No air needed. The trails were beautiful and it was a 2 min walk to Lake Michigan from our site. My site had both water and electricity, odd for a state park, but welcome. We will go back for sure.
The 2nd half was camping at Grant River Recreation Area. This is our 2nd time here and although, it was HOT the views made up for it. The trains are not a deal-breaker for me. Also, Oscar isn't fussed by them.

I did have 2 issues that I had to circumvent but I managed by tapping into my tent camping days. While de-winterizing my camper and sanitizing my freshwater tank, it obviously filled up my gray tank. My intent was to dump my tank upon arrival but OPPS...I forgot. I realized my error AFTER being completely set up.
I was NOT going to break down camp just to go to the dump station. So with a 1/2 full fresh tank, 2/3 full gray tank, and empty black tank, it was time to get creative with water conservation. We did just fine.
Issue 2 was a 1/4 full propane tank. I worked around this with my space heater. It helped to maintain the temp in the camper to limit the furnace kicking on. 35 degrees is chilly but Oscar and I were comfortably warm.
So in summary, although I have multiple checklists, I need to add a reminder to my phone or put a post-it note in the truck.

Our 1st camping trip for 2021 was a success! We are here at Kohler-Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, WI. The weather was cool and we had a little rain but we still managed to take a long trail hike and enjoy some relaxing morning campfires.
I really like this campground. The sites are large and well situated.. I recommend this location.
