It's National Cat Day! Today we are celebrating with our Cat of the Day who was brought into FCCO to be spay/neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites along with eight other cats.
Last summer, Tanya noticed cats in her yard and begun feeding them. She brought 13 cats to FCCO for spay/neuter services. However, two female cats were shy and escaped her notice, and then a new tomcat showed up. Now, a year later, their offspring are multiplying quickly.
Today Tanya brought in eight cats, including our Cat of the Day. This time she is determined to ensure that every cat in the colony comes to FCCO to be spay/neutered, vaccinated, and treated for parasites so there will be no more litters, or new cats adding to the colony.
Cats multiply quickly. One cat can turn into around 20 cats in less than a year, and over a 10 year period one cat and all her offspring can produce a startling 1,398,101 cats. Spay/neuter humanly stops the over population of feral, stray and pet cats.
