UPDATE: it's 2024 and that time of year again. We are searching for a Camp-host at Applegate Lake in Southern Oregon. We have a new opening for a CampHost at Hart Tish Park @ Applegate Lake. We expect a full lake and very busy summer, so we are increasing our staff. The position will have full-hookup (water/ 30AMP electric/ sewer), as well as unlimited fast Starlink wifi. We also have free washer/dryer onsite. And free firewood for your personal use. The general responsibilities are pretty standard, as far as other camp-hosts gigs. We have 1-public bathroom (Male/female) of full flush toilets and sinks. It is your job to maintain/clean these (as needed). We have 7-campsites and 7-dry RV sites, it is your job maintain and keep these clean. Of course, that means trash pickup. We have a small camp-truck to make your “rounds” throughout the campground. What makes this job different, is the General Store. Your Host-spot is 45-feet away from the Lakeside General Store. All revenue / users / transactions come through this store (it's how the facility makes money). We sell: Day-use-passes / Boat Launch fees / Camping reservations / Paddle-board rentals / ice-cream and snickers bars /etc. It is a flexible/rotating schedule whereby everyone “chips-in” towards the operation of the store. Basically, someone needs to be “available” to help guests from 7AM – 7PM daily. It's not difficult work, in-fact, it's mostly sitting on the deck, overlooking the Lake, and waiting for the next customer to arrive. Of course, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday can be very busy. The good news is, this is a commission-paid position. You get a generous percentage of all the daily proceeds from the store, during the time that you were “working”. That means, the more time you “work-the-store”, the more money you make. It is not an hourly position, We are expecting your 2024 year target compensation for the season year will be $4250. season. The season starts 5/1 and closes on 9/5, that means, the season is 18-weeks. A weekly average of $236 commission is to be expected. Cash. Camp hosts and their friends and family can use our toys: kayaks & paddle-boards for free (when not rented). There is potential for this gig to be year-round. You may be able stay over the Fall/ Winter/ Spring in a general capacity of care-taker. That just means watching-over the facility, and perhaps a few small winter tasks to be completed before Spring. We have a small side-by-side vehicle to make your “rounds” throughout the campground. And of course, good general customer service to our guests visiting the Lake. What makes this job different, is the General Store. Your Host-spot is 15-feet away from the Lakeside General Store. All revenue / users / transactions come through this store (it's how the facility makes money). We sell: Day-use-passes / Boat Launch fees / Camping reservations / Paddle-board rentals / ice-cream and snickers bars /etc. It is a flexible/rotating schedule whereby everyone “chips-in” towards the operation of the store. A weekly average of $500 commission is to be expected. Cash. Camphosts and their friends and family can use our toys: kayaks & paddle-boards for free (when not rented). There is potential for this gig to be year-round. You may be able stay over the Fall/ Winter/ Spring in a general capacity of care-taker. That just means watching-over the facility, and perhaps a few small winter tasks to be completed before Spring. Our prior Hosts have been here for 5-years, but all good things must come to an end. This could be the start of your new opportunity.

From our concessionaires at Applegate Lake:

Due to low water levels at Applegate Lake, Hart Tish Park boat-ramp/dock is unfortunately closed for the season.

Boaters can still launch at French Gulch or Copper Boat Ramp. Kayak and paddle boarders may still park and launch at Hart Tish Park.The General Store will be open limited hours, but is still offering kayak and paddle board rentals.

The main beach area at Hart Tish remains open, and is expected to be open for approximately 1 more week. Please come enjoy the water, as the temperature is near perfect!

Camping at Hart Tish is currently open, with the last camping night of the season being August 15th.

I'm seeing pics and posts from Medford and Grants Pass. I'm sure the smoke is brutal. It's nit perfect at the LAKE, but it's a whole lot better than the Valley.

Applegate Lake is OPEN. Boat dock is clear & open. Lake is 100% full. Campgrounds are open. Happy Summer !
