I know homecoming season is almost at an end, but don't forget to stop on by the Lawton Lending Closet tomorrow morning at 10am for our pop-up dress shop! Super excited! While I have appointment times in the evening this next week, I am happy to announce that we will be having a dress pop-up on Saturday October 10, starting at 10 am until 2 pm. This will give you an opportunity to come and see where we are and look over the dresses we have. I look forward to meeting you all!

I have often considered myself as being very transparent when it comes to how I run the Lawton Lending Closet. It has come to my attention that in all of the business of getting moved and reset, that I have neglected some very vital information that you as a community might need to know. So, here goes. We have had to change the cost of renting a dress from $20 to $40. Why you may ask? Over the last 3 years, we have some members of the Lawton community and surrounding areas that have borrowed from us and simply not returned the dress. We have urged, pleaded. begged for their return, but no luck. We then have had to replace those dresses with our own funding. With over 100 dresses still out there, it gets expensive to relace. We really can't afford to. So, that is why we have raised the rental fee. If this turns some of you away, we understand. Our only goal was to provide a resource for the community and to help our young women feel special and amazing on their special nights. Thank you all for your understanding in this matter.

So all of my appointments that were available for this week are filled. If you are still needing a dress for homecoming in the next couple of week, I will have appointment times next week, M-F 4-6 pm. I know we are cutting it close for homecoming, but we can still help. Also, If you need a dress for any other special occasion, hit us up we are here for every special occasion!

OK Friends! we're finally moved. Our new home is St. Andrew's Church on C Avenue. We are so very grateful to them for their hospitality and for the space that they have given us. I will be working the next few days to get dresses up on racks. You may reach out to me via messenger or text(816) 500-1758 to set up appointments starting Wednesday September 30, 2026 after 4 pm. I work during the day, so that's the earliest I can make appointments. I am also looking into having a pop-up Saturday October 10, from 10a-2p. I look forward to reconnecting with you through this experience!

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!! I know everyone has been waiting for this! It's official, we have a new home! Now comes the fun part, getting everything moved from our old location to the new one. I am needing some help with this. If you wan to help, I will need a couple of minivans or trucks and some good strong arms and backs. If you want to help, DM me for the time to meet and place to meet. This community is awesome! Thank you for your continued support!

I know that there are a lot of you that follow this page and have been waiting to hear about how our move is going. I am please to announce that we only have a few more i's to dot and t's to cross before everything is finished. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped us along in this journey. To all of you for your continued patience and support. It means so much to us and to know that we are still needed and wanted here in Lawton. Keep watching to see when our official open house will be!

I have a question for all of those that follow us and support the closet. How would you handle those who have not returned dresses, or are outright refusing to give them back? I have so many that are still out and so many moms and daughters that wont return phone calls or texts and are absolutely not returning dresses. What steps would you take to get the dresses back?
