A wonderful day in Little Italy in the Bronx (Arthur Avenue), hosted by Guglielmo Marconi Lodge 1620, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy from Lee. A giant thank you to Sally Withers for organizing the trip, and to JoAnn Sullivan for her help during the trip. We shopped in different stores which carried Italian foods, Italian coffee, baked goods galore with sumptuous cookies, cakes and fresh breads. And oh, the choices for lunch - hard to choose between Enzo’s, Mario’s, Roberto’s and so many more restaurants!
This Catholic Church was built by the Italians who came to the Bronx in the early 1900’s to build the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Gardens. The group photos are of most of us waiting for the tour bus in front of the Mt. Carmel Church. A lot of smiling faces and shopping bags!❤️
