Nothing wasted from this harvest. After depulping our coffee cherries, I turned the fruit into a vibrant purple coffee cherry syrup and saved the husk chaff for the compost. From bean to cherry to soil, every part has a purpose here at Colorida Café de Castro. Experimenting this year has been about the process and finding creative ways to use what the land gives us.

Our very first harvest at Colorida Café de Castro 🌿 From beans resting in their shells, to green coffee, to my very first roast ever. This year is all about learning, experimenting, and honoring the process from tree to cup here in Costa Rica’s Central Valley. Next year we will be offering roasted coffee for sale, but for now we are tasting, refining, and falling in love with every step. Most of this year's harvest was sold to the Coopatenas RL. The coffee is processed by them and exported to Starbucks, Nestle, Illy Cafe, Chick-fil-A, Keurig Green Mountain Coffee and Union Hand Roasted.
A small amount of our coffee we kept for processing and roasting ourselves.
