Fall color at Big Bald is something special, and we're fortunate to enjoy a view of it right from the deck here at Mars Hill Haven at Scenic Wolf. 🍂 There is no better way to experience autumn in the Blue Ridge Mountains than with a front-row seat to the season.

Big Bald in Mars Hill, North Carolina 🤩

Fall color is almost here in Appalachia! Big Bald is an iconic spot on the Appalachian Trail that is WORTH the 6.5 mile hike from Sam's Gap (about 13 miles total). We took this photo last year in late fall. Being one of the highest points in Madison County means that Big Bald will be seeing that amazing fall color before the lower elevations. Plan on checking this spot out early this leaf-looker season!

While you're at it swing into downtown Mars Hill where you can enjoy great food/drinks, art galleries, shopping and more! Just 20 minutes north of Asheville, come explore Mars Hill, North Carolina!
