As challenging as it has been to build on our remote mountain, I love it here. One of my favorite things about our land is the biodiversity. We have so many frogs and toads, which generally indicates a thriving ecosystem. Some of the other animals we have seen and heard on or near our spot include bears, bobcats, weasels, peregrine falcons, bald eagles, indigo buntings, wood ducks, barred owls, turkeys, crayfish, copperheads and non venemous snakes, deer, rabbits, coyotes, snapping turtles, blue tailed skinks, and eastern fence lizards, like the one here. The lizards love to sun on our cabin logs. 💚
