It was an eventful morning! Our largest Joey finally decided to pop out of the pouch!

He looked around, met the other female kangaroos, and promptly decided he was ready to go back inside 😂

Over these next few days, we expect him to get brave and try again.

Giraffes are born with their ossicones flat against their head. Little tufts hang at the ends. As they grow, eventually the “pigtails” grow out with the ossicones 🦒

Kangaroo Joey sighting! Mimi the kangaroo has been carrying this little cutie for a while now. Soon, they will start to venture out of the pouch. For now, we are happy to get a glimpse and note that baby is safe and growing!

Kinkajous are sometimes called honey bears, not due to a relation to bears, but rather for their love of honey. They have long, skinny tongues that can invade a bee hive.
These adorable creatures are nocturnal, meaning the only time we see them awake is in the early morning or right before bedtime. Sometimes when staff arrive at Blue Hills, Johnny and June will give us a few sleepy glances before tucking in for the day.

Our otter pups are old enough to start trying solid foods! Today was a learning experience for the little ones... we will keep working on it!
