Wonderful food, great company, stunning river views -- all for a good cause! This was our beautiful Saturday night celebrating with last year's auction winners. A generous couple from Stillwater bid on dinner by us in their home benefitting Firefighters For Healing and we were happy to deliver a Spanish and Midwest inspired five course evening. Thank you to the hosts!

It’s that time of year again…The Great Minnesota Get-Together!

Last year we were welcomed by our friends Renewing the Countryside in the Eco Experience Building to do a few cooking demos, and this year we’re back! If you’re heading to the Fair on Wednesday, September 2nd stop by the Eco Experience Building at 11am, 1pm, or 3pm and let us show you how to make a bangin’ summer bean salad! We’ll be showcasing some great local farms and makers, and we’d love to see YOU in the audience.

Bonus: there will be samples!

‘Tis the season! After a busy couple weeks with farm dinners, today we can take a moment to enjoy some of the food we grow in our own backyard! Lovely fresh little cukes, spicy hybrid peppers, and (so far!) one odd looking tomato.

The summer is always such a special time in the Midwest. Whether you get your veggies from the co-op, a CSA, farm stand, or right in your backyard, this is the season for incredible fresh produce and we are so here for it!

It's really hard to put into words how it feels when a working family farm turns into a dining room. When an aisle of mulch suddenly sprouts up a banquet table.

It's not magic -- it's hard, planned work -- but the result is certainly magical.

Despite having done this special performance a number of times now, sometimes one glance at the set table or one vignette set with flowers and menus and the farm dog will still take our breath away.

Thanks to 10th St. Farm & Market for the beautiful setting and hospitality, and California Street Farm for co-creating with us, again and again.

In our partnership with California Street Farm and 10th St. Farm & Market we are highlighting not only each other but other makers. Mat Waddell of Pen Name Fermentation Project is the perfect example. Did you know he has made a b**r for us for every single dinner? ♥️♥️♥️

Guests will be enjoying this with a tomato salad, perfect for this season.

We love crafting cocktails around here, especially NA ones! It forces our minds to really think about flavor as opposed to the "base spirit" or the "build" of a classic cocktail. This yarrow maple gold rush is made with home-harvested yarrow + hyssop infused into maple, Three Spirit Nightcap, and Abstinence Spirits Cape Spice.

As a bonus, the maple instead of honey makes it vegan.

Its alcoholic counterpart has a similar vibe with honey and a blend of J. Carver Distillery straight bourbon and Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery TN Wh***ey.

Beers and boats and botanical gardens and boats and beautiful food and did we mention b**rs? We’re out in Cleveland, Ohio with a smattering of friends from all over the country. This city really has it all and we feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface. Trips like this are a great way for us to reconnect with dear friends, and also tickle our creativity a little bit. It’s also a nice little relax before we jump into a couple of farm dinners!

We consider ourselves very lucky to be cooking a five-course dinner in the market of the Community Emergency Service food shelf, using only ingredients that clients would be able to find. We hope this meal brings additional support for a critical and longstanding resource in our community.

We are taking advantage of this beautiful summer weekend to celebrate Paige's birthday and check out some of our favorite stops and new spots around Lake Pepin. To absolutely no one's surprise, this area is definitely growing, but we are happy to say that it's retained 100% of its charm. We have so much fun in store all weekend, and we will never pass up an impromptu stop for good b**r, this time at Brenda K Pearson in Wabasha after a much-needed swim.
