Dear Brothern:
It is with a concerned heart that I address you as Worshipful Master of New Lexington #250. As you know, in the past years we have had not only, a monetary problem, but also a membership engagement problem. We’ve had many tough “heart to heart” type meetings to try and find pathways back with little to no positive results. These meetings came to a point this summer. We as a lodge agreed to sell our building to keep the charter going. In November 2024 we sold the building and New Lexington #250 has now taken up residence at Somerset #76 for the foreseeable future. Our annual inspection was moved to March 14th at 7:30 pm at Somerset #76 for these very reasons.
While we have for now taken care of the lodge from a monetary standpoint, we now reach a different crossroads. Brothers please do not forget or give up on New Lexington just because we will be meeting in a different place. It is still New Lexington Lodge #250, with 170 plus years of history and brotherhood!! Change in venue does not change that fraternal bound and Masonic work among us all. It is with that concerned heart I implore all members to still attend the regular monthly meetings. Every second Thursday at 7:30pm, in Somerset #76, so we can bring New Lexington back to full strength and move into the future with residence again in New Lexington. Without this membership engagement we run the very real risk of losing the very charter we fought to keep going. So please make it a point to attend and get involved so we can have 170 years more!!!
Yours in Masonry:
Ryan Sidwell
