Will fewer nights really save that much❓

Here’s something that occasionally surprises people when we shorten an all inclusive vacation:

Removing hotel nights doesn’t always reduce the total price as much as expected.

That’s because the airfare, airport transportation and travel protection may stay nearly the same whether you travel for three nights or five.

Sometimes the hotel savings are meaningful. Other times, the flights are such a large part of the package that cutting the vacation shorter doesn’t save enough to make it worthwhile.

That’s why I like to compare the complete package before assuming fewer nights will solve the budget problem.

Here’s the part of a “work vacation” nobody sees. 😂

I came home with a camera roll full of hotel rooms, resorts, wait times, park details, food, transportation and all the little things I thought might help someone plan a future trip.

Now I have to figure out what everything is, organize it and turn it into something useful.

Normal people come home and unpack.

Travel Advisors come home and realize they have assigned themselves homework. 😂

I love this idea! ❤️

One of the things that can get exhausting about traveling through Europe is constantly packing up and moving to the next hotel.

Globus and Cosmos have introduced something called Unpack and Explore Tours, where you stay in just one or two hotels and take day trips to explore the surrounding areas.

You still get to experience some amazing destinations, just at a more relaxed pace! 🌍

And honestly, that sounds pretty appealing to me!

Would you rather unpack once and explore, or move from city to city to see as much as possible?

Three years of going to Halloween Horror Nights, and this was our first time stopping into Dead Coconut Club at Universal CityWalk! 🎃👽

Normally called Red Coconut Club, it gets seasonal makeovers throughout the year. This year’s Halloween theme? A Midwest fall festival taken over by aliens. Being from the Midwest, I can appreciate that one! 😂

Even after several visits, there’s always something else to discover at Universal. It’s one of my favorite things about going back!

One thing I never really expected when I became a Travel Advisor back in 2017 was how many wonderful people I would meet along the way. ❤️

I recently attended a Magical Vacation Planner event in Indiana, and while there was plenty of learning going on, there was also a LOT of laughing. 😂

It’s funny how a job that involves spending so much time working independently can also bring you together with people who share the same love of travel.

We might live in different states, have different specialties and run our businesses a little differently, but we all have that one thing in common.

And when we get together, there’s never a shortage of travel stories!

It’s one of those unexpected parts of this job that I’ve really come to appreciate.

When you're shopping for a cruise, it's easy to get caught up in the ship itself.

The restaurants, the pools, the entertainment, the beautiful cabins...and don't get me wrong, those things are important!

But one of the first things I look at when helping someone choose a cruise is the ITINERARY.

Two cruises that are the same length and visit the same general region can offer very different experiences.

One might give you a full day to explore a destination, while another only spends a few hours there.

One might have several sea days, while another visits a different port almost every day.

And depending on the destination, the actual port where the ship docks can make a big difference in how much time you spend getting to the places you want to see.

That's why I don't think choosing a cruise should be based on the ship or the price alone.

It's about finding the combination of ship, itinerary and experience that makes sense for YOU.

Sometimes I love a vacation where I'm up early, going from one attraction to the next, and trying to squeeze in as much as possible.

And sometimes?

I want a beach chair, a beautiful ocean view and absolutely nowhere I HAVE to be.

That's one of the things I love about travel. There isn't just one way to enjoy a vacation.

After all the excitement of my recent trips, I can definitely appreciate the appeal of a quiet, relaxing getaway!

A beautiful adults-only all-inclusive resort sounds pretty good right about now.

What kind of vacation are you craving lately?

One where you see and do EVERYTHING, or one where your biggest decision is pool or beach? ☀️
