Kids playing “Marco Polo” in the pool, afternoons spent outside, sunshine on the water, and everyone just enjoying being together.

These are the moments that make summer feel a little simpler, a little sweeter, and a whole lot more special.

Here’s to summers that sound like this, and to one more summer weekend soaking up the sunshine and making memories together. ❤️

A baby at Baby’s Cabin. 🦌🤎

This mama and her little one stopped for an evening snack right outside Baby’s Cabin, and we just had to share. Looking out from the porch, we spotted them peacefully grazing in the grass as the evening sun cast a golden glow over one of Mountain Lake’s most recognizable cabins.

The Virginia Cabin, better known to Dirty Dancing fans as Baby’s Cabin, has a pretty special place in Mountain Lake’s history. It’s where Baby stayed during her summer at Kellerman’s, and it has become a favorite stop for fans wanting to experience a little piece of the movie for themselves.

Every now and then, Baby’s Cabin gives us a moment that has nothing to do with the movie and everything to do with the quiet, natural beauty you can find around Mountain Lake.

Seeing this sweet little fawn enjoying a quiet evening at Baby’s Cabin was pretty special. 💚

September 2nd… that’s fall, right? 🍂

We may be getting a little ahead of ourselves, but we’re more than ready for changing leaves and crisp mountain air.

A porch, a mountain view and a Spiced Apple Martini feel like a pretty good way to welcome the season. Add a few changing leaves, and we’re calling it official.

So, whether it’s technically fall or not, we’re happy to start celebrating a little early. 🥂🍂

Tucked among 2,600 acres of protected wilderness, Mountain Lake is home to all kinds of wildlife, from the birds soaring overhead to the little creatures that quietly move through the forest. And sometimes, the Mountain feels a little more magical than you expected.

Step onto your porch, look out your window, or spend a few minutes near one of our hummingbird feeders and you’ll quickly realize just how much is happening all around you.

Tiny wings whirring, little flashes of color darting through the air, and that unmistakable zoom as they zip past you and back to the feeders.

There’s something wonderfully surreal about sitting on the porch and watching them swirl around you. You can hear them before you see them, and once you do, it’s hard to look away. They hover, dart, swoop and disappear into the trees, only to come buzzing back moments later.

It’s the kind of experience that makes you slow down without even realizing it. Grab a cup of coffee, settle into a rocking chair, and let the Mountain put on its own little show right outside your door.

Can you believe Labor Day Weekend is only ONE week away?! ☀️

Summer may be winding down, but there’s still time to sneak in one more mountain getaway before we officially say goodbye to the season. Join us September 4–7 for LaLaPoolza and send summer off with live music, poolside fun, tropical drinks, mountain adventures, and plenty of laid-back summer vibes. 🎶🍹

On Saturday, enjoy poolside fun throughout the day before turning up the island vibes with Stable Roots featuring Sista Nickey & Ralphtafari from 6–8 PM. Then, grab your favorite people and settle in for Cool Runnings under the stars.

On Sunday, keep the music going with Aaron & Lilly from 4–6 PM as part of our Salt Pond Sunday Music Series, followed by another poolside favorite, Footloose.

And of course, there’s plenty to enjoy throughout the weekend beyond the scheduled events. Wander the trails, relax by the pool, grab a bite at Mountain Lake, or simply find a spot to take in the views and enjoy the last days of summer.

We’re getting closer to Pickin’ for a Purpose! 🪕❤️

Thank you to Junior Sisk for taking the time to make this video and help us spread the word. We’re so excited to welcome Junior, Barry & the Mudflaps, and our community to Mountain Lake this Saturday for an evening of bluegrass, great food, family fun, and a whole lot of community spirit.

From 5 to 6 PM, enjoy live music from Barry & the Mudflaps, followed by award-winning bluegrass artist Junior Sisk from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

There’s plenty more to enjoy throughout the evening, including food from Mountain Lake, Kirk’s BBQ, and The Brew Wagon, bounce houses, Touch-a-Ambulance, lawn games, raffles, and more!

Most importantly, this is a night all about supporting the Newport Rescue Squad and the dedicated volunteers who are always there for our community.🚑❤️

We can’t stop looking at these photos…

There’s something so incredibly special about looking back at Dirty Dancing Summer Days and seeing just how much this story still means to people, 40 years after Dirty Dancing first captured our hearts. Four decades later, the music still makes us want to dance, the memories still make us smile, and fans are still coming together from near and far to celebrate the movie we all know and love.

Looking through these photos feels like stepping right back into the weekend. The dancing, the laughter, the music, the costumes, the smiles, the friendships, and all of those little moments that made the festival feel so full of life. ❤️

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out and celebrated with us. Whether you’ve loved Dirty Dancing since you first watched it decades ago or discovered the magic more recently, seeing so many people come together to celebrate this unforgettable movie was truly something special.

We wish we could bottle up this weekend and live in it a little longer… so until we can, we’ll be looking through these photos, reliving the memories, and sharing plenty more of them with you.

Happy Birthday to Patrick Swayze.

Today, we're celebrating the incredible talent, charisma, and spirit of the man who brought Johnny Castle to life and gave us a character who has remained unforgettable for generations.

Patrick Swayze's performance in Dirty Dancing made Johnny more than just a movie character. His dancing, his presence, and his undeniable charm helped create a legacy that continues to inspire people to dance, fall in love with the movie, and come back to it year after year.

During our recent Dirty Dancing celebration, we got to see a little piece of that legacy come to life as fans stepped into the spirit of Johnny for our costume contest. It was a fun reminder of just how much this character, and the talent behind him, continues to mean to fans.

Today, we're celebrating Patrick Swayze and the lasting magic he brought to the screen. Here's to a legacy that keeps people dancing.

Join us at Mountain Lake from 5 PM to 9 PM for an evening filled with live bluegrass, good food, family fun, and a whole lot of community spirit, all in support of the Newport Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Get ready for an evening of great music with Barry & the Mudflaps from 5 to 6 PM, followed by award winning bluegrass artist Junior Sisk from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. And between the music, there’s plenty to enjoy with food from Mountain Lake, Kirk’s BBQ, and The Brew Wagon, plus bounce houses, Touch-a-Ambulance, lawn games, raffles, a VIP Hospitality Tent, and more!

🍉 The Watermelon Race brought plenty of laughs, smiles, and a little friendly competition to Kellerman’s!

Our guests grabbed their watermelons and raced their way through one of the most fun and entertaining traditions of Dirty Dancing Summer Days!

There were cheers from the crowd, lots of laughter, and plenty of excitement as our racers made their way through the competition. It was all about enjoying the moment, having some fun, and making memories together!

A big congratulations to our finalists and winners! 🏆 You made it to the final rounds and came ready to race!

Thank you to everyone who came out, joined in, cheered from the sidelines, and made the Watermelon Race so much fun! ❤️
