It's always something crazy at this place
Today I'm called
Re bees near a broken pipe
They're working on

Arrive find a large clump of bees clinging to some elephant grass near a GUSHING broken pipe
Like MEGA WATER coming out quickly

I slowly approach from behind
Suited up
Vacuum in had
When 3rd step the ground gives way
I've stepped into a sink hole hidden under the ground
I go waist deep Into the GUSHING WATER

the workers faces nearby watching
were SHOCKED
And frightened

No1 realized that much water was flowing under the ground
Esp scary
There was LARGE MACHINERY parked atop the same dirt I just fell thru

Needless to say my phone went flying to someone who wasn't now swimming

Remember I'm fully suited
I get out of the ground with only 1 BOOT
The other is nowhere to be seen or found....
Til about 20 minutes later when
I hear a worker yell
There's your boot! Lol
And out it came in the GUSHING water

Was too full of water and sand to put back on
So I worked 1 foot barefoot

Rescuing the hive and queen feom the grasses

The size of the combs that too came gushing out were MASSIVE

It's amazing no1 had noticed it before the pipe leak

Needless to say
I never felt hot working
Altho the 30lb wet boots at my next removal
We're NOT fun ...

ALL IN A DAY

The Town of Davie is pleased to announce the return of its monthly Gardening Workshops, held on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m., November 2026 through March 2027 at the Davie Community Garden, located at 4005 S. Hiatus Road.

These workshops are designed to help individuals of all ages and experience levels enhance their gardening knowledge and learn new skills. Led by gardening experts, each session includes hands-on demonstrations, covering topics from basic gardening to advanced techniques, including plant nutrition, soil preparation, and watering.

Admission and parking are free.

December 5, 2026 – Feeding Fronds: Nutrition and Management for Palm Health

Yearly state apiary inspection complete

NOW to mow my acres....hives are already pi**ed from all being opened up
Simultaneously with the inspector

He was greatful he brought gloves with him
🐝🐝😆

for these state officials doing the
HARD WORK ....to keep the bees safe...

Return to recheck this removal
In parkland

There's no bees left lingering in space
Find that odd
As big as it was
I knew queen was removed monday
BUT ...
not likely to have zero bees lingering

So I began to look around
Wondering of they'd flew somewhere nearby

Walked around the cul-de-sac and sure enough
2 houses over
I see a tiny swarm of bees clinging to a branch
About 8 feet up

No doubt remnants of the removal
As up in the space
With low #
And no combs
I could feel the
a/c pumping out the hole
Likely making it inhospitable for them

I HAPPILY vacuumed the remnants bees up
NO I didn't charge the neighbor
But reflected upon a story I recently heard from another beekeeper who said
That wasn't what I was called there for...and proceeded to offer a price for removal
Of a very similar incident
I was to say the least

Immediately got stung 2x ??

Customer says I think it's cause u smell like u wanna get attacked??
