📚 CHOIR HOMEWORK | LESSON 3
THE STAGES OF TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Every great team goes through stages before it reaches excellence. Strong teams aren’t built overnight they’re developed through commitment, communication, and growth.
This week we learned the 5 Stages of Team Development:
🟣 1. Forming
This is where the team comes together. Members are getting to know one another, learning expectations, and discovering their roles.
🟠 2. Storming
Differences begin to surface. Opinions, personalities, and challenges may create conflict, but this stage is necessary for growth.
🔵 3. Norming
The team begins to understand one another. Trust grows, communication improves, and members start working together more effectively.
🟢 4. Performing
This is where the team functions at a high level. Everyone understands their role, supports one another, and works together toward a common purpose.
🟣 5. Adjourning
After completing a goal or assignment, the team reflects, celebrates what was accomplished, and prepares for the next opportunity to serve.
As the Cor 2:9 Community Choir, we understand that every rehearsal, every ministry assignment, and every challenge is helping us grow into the team God has called us to be.
📖 Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.”
💭 Homework Reflection
• Which stage do you think our choir is currently in?
• How can you help move the team toward the Performing stage?
• Are you encouraging unity or creating division?
🎶 Remember:
Healthy teams don’t avoid challenges… they grow through them.
💙 Now that you learned it… NOW USE IT!
