Every corner of The Davenport holds a story, and few are as remarkable as Paul Knauls' ✨🍷

Paul began his hospitality career at The Davenport in 1952, starting in the kitchen before working his way up to the Crystal Dining Room and eventually becoming Head W**e Steward in the newly opened Matador Room. His talent and dedication even took him to Napa Valley to study w**e, helping shape a career built on exceptional service.

In 1963, Paul followed his dream of owning a business and moved to Portland, where he transformed the Cotton Club into one of the West Coast's most celebrated music venues, earning a place in Pacific Northwest history.

We're proud that a chapter of Paul Knauls' extraordinary story began here at The Davenport. Special thanks to Paul Knauls Jr. for sharing this piece of history with us. 🤍
