Every day, The Shenandoah is taking shape. We're now roughly a third of the way through the construction process, with land clearing and most infrastructure work complete, utilities being installed, and four buildings rising from the ground: Arrivals, Spa, Meetings, and Back of House. Foundations have been excavated for the remaining buildings, and the contours of the resort are becoming visible across the landscape.

Director | Sales | The Shenandoah Nature Resort
Job Category: Sales & Marketing

Description:

We're seeking a relationship-driven, and commercially minded Director | Sales to lead revenue growth at The Shenandoah Nature Resort. This role is responsible for building and executing a comprehensive sales strategy that positions The Shenandoah as the premier nature-immersive resort destination in the Mid-Atlantic, where the Shenandoah Valley's ancient landscape meets intentional, transformational hospitality.

This is a full-time, on-site, exempt position based in Star Tannery, Virginia, and reports to the Managing Director, with a dotted line to the SVP | Sales. The salary range for this position is $150,000–$175,000.

Sneak Peak Preview!

Check out the progress of our Meetings Building. Notice the shape that’s starting to form? This is where we will have our conference space for larger and smaller gatherings.

Fun Fact - The triangle shape is where the energy flows through the property and is funneled into the tip. These buildings were designed with purpose, belief, and not just cool looks. 😎

A message from our Founder Mike Marburg as he introduces the arrivals building!

“Through time on the land, shared meals, guided experiences, and conversations around the fire, we will begin cultivating what we call The Shenandoah Energetic: a living field of safety, connection, and possibility.

We are hoping to attract conscious leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, artists, culture shapers, and industry disruptors who are helping shape a more regenerative future. People carrying meaningful work, asking better questions, and building with intention, courage, and imagination, even as they know success alone is not the same as wholeness.

And we believe the timing matters. Modern life has cut many of us off from the natural and social conditions that help us feel whole. We live indoors, move too little, work too much, and carry types of stress our bodies were never designed to hold. We have built systems that reward speed, scale, extraction, and endless growth, while so many people are quietly longing for steadiness, meaning, belonging, and repair.” Mike M.

Beginning in spring 2027, we will open The Heartwood, a private 20-room retreat setting within The Shenandoah Nature Resort and the first place where invited guests will begin experiencing what we are building on the land.

Set on the other side of our 640-acre forest from the future main resort, The Heartwood is designed for privacy, community, and some of our deepest experiences. Its rooms are arranged to support retreat groups, leadership circles, and private gatherings, anchored by the rammed-earth Heartwood Hall for meals, workshop sessions, and time around the fire.
