🎥 Best South Bay movie moments - and all of these locations are within reach from our cottage!
• La La Land at the Hermosa Pier / Lighthouse Café
The kind of scene that makes locals do the “wait, I’ve definitely walked past that exact spot” double-take. The film was well-done and a lot of fun.
• Point Break Beach Cities
The South Bay has long been a favorite backdrop for surf, sand, and the occasional dramatic life choice. This one is perfect for the “cool, but also slightly ridiculous in the best way” category.
• She’s All That in Redondo Beach
A classic for anyone who enjoys teen-movie nostalgia with a South Bay address book hidden in the credits. It’s one of those movies that makes you wonder how many local spots have been silently doing heavy lifting for Hollywood for decades.
• Baywatch and the beach-life image
Even if people remember the theme song more than the plot, it absolutely helped cement the South Bay’s sun-soaked screen identity. Great comment bait: Did this show make the beach look cooler, or just everyone’s hair more aerodynamic?
• Jackie Brown and the South Bay vibe
Quentin Tarantino’s world often turns ordinary places into cinematic landmarks, and South Bay locations have definitely gotten that treatment. It’s a nice choice for people who want something a little cooler than the usual “beach scene” answer.
