Today we are finishing the interior of our door with plugs and stain. The dark, rich finish really gives the upscale shire feel that we’ve been chasing. We’ve been very busy these last few weeks and can’t wait to share more of the project soon!

While construction continues under the hill, Meg has been tending to hundreds of sprouts and seedlings that will be used when we get to landscaping. Creeping thyme, rudbeckia, coneflowers, dahlias, and many more are lovingly nurtured in her cozy little greenhouse!

In part 3 of our round door-building series we made some really scary cuts, used a quart of glue and 2lbs of screws, and only knocked over the camera once (at a most critical moment 🤦‍♂️) If you’ve ever wanted to build a big round door, follow along!

Spring has sprung, so it is time for us to do some landscaping! We picked up three baby blue spruces from our local nursery and got to work. We are grateful for soft soil and the lifting power of Bobby-Bobby (our mini skid steer) that helped to get these big guys settled into their new home 😃
