We recently delivered a fully immersive brand activation and conference for a global eye care company at the stunning Casa Gessi, Milan.

Designed to engage delegates at every touchpoint, this one-day experience combined immersive environments, thoughtful storytelling and seamless live production.

We’re so excited to finally share this one 😊

Late last year we delivered our third year working on this project at Testbed, Leeds — and honestly, it’s been our favourite yet.

The creative brief was strong from the outset. Set inside a long, narrow venue, the design took inspiration from a ski chalet, complete with ski ramps and goalpost-style features at either end. Rather than relying on printed graphics, we chose to build everything from real timber, stained to a finish the client selected after reviewing physical samples we sent out.

Finding the right timber mattered. It had to be rough-sawn for texture, thin enough to keep weight down, and completely untreated so it was cleaner to work with and easier to recycle post-event. After a long search, we found the perfect match — and it paid off.

Alongside the set build, we delivered full technical production across both the plenary and afterparty, for a one-day conference followed by an awards ceremony and club-style celebration.

A two-day conference hosted in the beautiful surroundings of Carden Park Hotel ✨
Set against a luxury countryside backdrop, this event required a considered technical approach that balanced strong visual impact, seamless delegate experience, and a clear commitment to sustainability.

SPH delivered a full end-to-end production solution, including:

♻️ CNC-cut sustainable set design, manufactured from lightweight, fully recyclable cardboard, reducing environmental impact while delivering a clean, contemporary aesthetic

🎭 Custom curved and ramped stage, designed for accessibility, speaker flow and strong sightlines from all areas of the room

💡 Programmable LED lighting integrated directly into the set, allowing the space to evolve throughout the conference and reinforcing brand moments on stage

🔊 Comprehensive audio system, including point source speakers, digital mixing desk, radio microphones, wired and wireless communications systems, and professional audio playback to ensure clarity and consistency across all sessions

💡 Dynamic lighting package, featuring moving LED washes, moving beam fixtures, LED uplighters, LED battens, alongside truss and rigging to shape the room and support the stage design

📺 Four 86' screens, powered by Spyder switching, with comfort monitors for presenters, PowerPoint and video playback for seamless content delivery

🎥 Live camera recording, capturing key moments and enhancing audience engagement across the room

🔧 On-site technical management and crew, ensuring smooth transitions between sessions, fast troubleshooting and a polished delegate experience across both days

🌱 Sustainability in Action: Lightweight, Recyclable Event Design

At SPH, we believe that high-impact events don’t have to come at the expense of the environment. For this project, we designed and delivered a fully sustainable scenic solution that combined creativity, functionality, and eco-conscious materials.

Our approach included:

📦 Lightweight Cardboard Scenery – 10mm cardboard panels printed with certified inks, supported with lightweight timber brackets for stability. Quick to install, easy to move, and fully recyclable after the event

🎭 Three Main Stage Sets – expertly designed and constructed to enhance the event experience while minimising environmental impact

🖋️ Registration Desk & Backdrop – bespoke, visually striking designs created using the same sustainable materials, combining aesthetics with eco-friendly practicality

💡 From stage sets to registration areas, every element was thoughtfully planned to deliver a professional, visually engaging experience — while keeping sustainability at the heart of the design.

In May 2025 we sent a fully loaded articulated truck from Hawes to Istanbul to deliver an event for our long standing client, Avis & Budget Group. Ten of us hopped on a plane to meet the truck a week after it left us, where we set up the equipment and delivered multiple rooms of production for the three day conference and awards show.

We delivered:-

🔊Line array and point source speakers, digital mixing desks, radio mics, wired and wireless comms and audio playback

💡Moving LED washes, moving beams, LED strobe and wash lights, LED uplighters, LED battens, truss and rigging

📺 Two large LED screens with Pixelhue switching, comfort monitors, PowerPoint and video high resolution servers

🎥 Live camera relay and wireless shoulder mounted camera for the awards

⚡️ Power distribution for the event production and lighting trusses

🔨 Custom curved and multi layer staging, and branded backdrops produced in our Hawes workshop
