🐒 IT'S WORLD GIBBON DAY!

And quite frankly, we think these little guys have LIFE figured out!
They spend their days swinging from tree to tree, hanging around with their loved ones and singing at the top of their lungs! 🎶🤣
Sounds like the perfect weekend to us! 😂

🐒 DID YOU KNOW?
🌿 Gibbons aren't monkeys. They're apes, and they have no tails!

🦾 They can swing through the trees at speeds of up to 55 km/h. That's faster than some of us drive to work!
🎶 Some gibbon couples sing duets together. Clearly, nobody has told them that marriage is supposed to be hard work! 🤣❤️
🌏 These incredible acrobats live in the forests of Asia.

And although we don't have gibbons at LETLABO NATURE RESERVE, we love animals from all over the world, even as far as ASIA!

A zebra in disguise?
Not quite! 🦓+🦒

Today we celebrate one of Africa's most fascinating and mysterious animals, the OKAPI!

With its beautiful zebra-like stripes, you might think the okapi is related to a zebra. But here's the surprise: its closest living relative is actually the GIRAFFE! 🦒

Found only in the rainforests of the Democratic Republic of Congo, these shy and elusive animals remind us just how wonderfully diverse African wildlife is.

A rhino has walked this earth for millions of years.
Powerful. Prehistoric. Unmistakably African.
And yet, in our lifetime, its survival has become our responsibility.
At Letlabo Nature Reserve, we do not house these creatures but we believe the bush is not simply a place we visit. It is something we are entrusted to protect.

Because a world where our children only know a rhino from a photograph is not a legacy worth leaving.

Today, stop for a moment and appreciate one of Africa’s most extraordinary giants.

’n Groep vriende en hulle kinders het dié naweek die grondpad via Assen vanaf Brits tot by Letlabo Nature Reserve aangedurf op hulle motorfietse en vierwiele! Die mammas het die kos en bagasie met die bakkies vervoer. 😄

Hoe oulik is dié idee nie⁉️ Avontuur, stof, lag en kwaliteittyd saam… Ons het lanklaas sulke gelukkige gesiggies gesien! 🤩

Kinders onthou nie altyd wat jy vir hulle gekoop het nie...maar hulle onthou hoe julle hulle laat voel het en die avonture wat julle saam beleef het. ❤️
