Somerset West Golf Club is primarily a parkland course with 18 holes which has been split into 2 sections due to a railway line running through it. Although these divisions appear inconvenient, they actually add to the challenge as both sections have elements that challenge the golfer.

The popular Blaauwklippen Family Market only 14kms from Mooring House is open on Saturday and Sundays. This lovely weekly market is held at Blaauwklippen W**e Estate on the way to Stellenbosch. The market is predominantly a food market with various stalls flaunting tempting treats like strawberry, cream, and chocolate pancakes, samoosas, green smoothies, gourmet ice cream, pizza, burgers, and a variety of cheeses. In addition to the food, there are a few stalls with clothing, wooden decor, plants, and African arts and crafts. There is also live music to ensure a relaxing atmosphere. Children can enjoy pony rides, face painting, and a dedicated play area while parents spend a lazy Sunday pic nicing on the grassy lawns with food selected from the stalls and a glass of Blaauwklippen w**e.
