Ishe on Lorna meaning, ‘God on Lorna’ in Shona, is an art collection and soon to be villa.

Had a wonderful time at Reps Theatre watching, 'Yellow Dog Dingo' by Petina Gappah . The play is rooted in important historical context and is the culmination of research on Catholic priests and the likes of John Smyth (Anglican) who abused numerous little boys during their time in Zimbabwe at various schools, but in the context of Smyth, during his Zambezi Holiday (Christian) camps. The protagonist is played by Munya Chidzonga , he is a highly accomplished cardiologist battling trauma, alcoholism and fragile mental health emanating from the abuse. The play is centred on his confrontation with his abuser who comes into his hospital as a patient and him grappling with what he did to him in addition to his own alcoholism and fragile mental state. Whilst the play topics are heavy, they're lightened by music which plays throughout the theme and is a character in and of itself documenting the character's own growth and journey. For those who didn't manage to watch the play, a book on the subject will be published next year by Petina Gappah and beyond the book, as it relates to the victims, 40 of them have bravely taken the Church of England to Court.

When our art collecting journey started, we never expected to one day add a work by William Kentridge to our collection. William Kentridge is based in Johannesburg and is one of the world's leading artists. His work spans a diverse range of mediums including drawing, printmaking, sculpture and painting. A big thank you to Jean le Clus-Theron for helping us acquire one of his works, namely. 'Nose Alone, 2007'.

We are happy to add this clay sculpture to our art collection. The work is by Edinah T Chagwedera a Zimbabwean artist who is based in Cape Town. Edinah has exhibited at numerous South African art fairs and holds a diploma in Fine Art from the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Cape Town; we discovered her work through Capital Art, an art collection management platform for contemporary art collectors.

It's quite a pleasure to see different forms of art patronage taking place in Zimbabwe. Siyekhaya Estate hosted an art exhibition including a range of Zimbabwean artists such as and to name a few. However, our two favourite works were:

At the we saw two works by Cosmos Shiridzonomwe and were glad to see additional works by him as part of the 'What the Ground Holds' exhibition which is taking place at which is above .zim - some of our favourite works include:

(1) 'Remembered' (2025);
(2) 'Behind Closed Doors' (2025);
(3) 'Who Can Be Against Us' (2025);

Another impressive highlight of the 'What the Ground Holds' exhibition which is on show at Borrowdale Race course at the MTC building above .zim is the inclusion of works by the late historic Zimbabwean/Mozambican artist, Luis Meque. His works have also been exhibited at the and has described him as being 'to painting what Marechera (Dambudzo) was to writing'.

For those in Harare, there's an ongoing exhibition entitled, 'What the Ground Holds' taking place at the MTC building at Borrowdale race course, above the .zim store. The exhibition includes a range of established and emerging artists and one of the artists we were happy to discover is the self taught artist Johnson Mugabe whose figurative works are set behind interesting backdrop scenes.

Another highlight of visiting isn't just the beautiful scenery and outdoor activities which includes hiking to the Mermaid Pool, another component of the experience is the opportunity for art tourism. Following our hike to Mermaid Pool, we had lunch with one of our favourite artists, who just finished a residency in Austria following her participation in ; she is represented by . Gillian is a disciplined artist and we enjoyed spending the afternoon with her at the learning about her artistic practice.

One of the highlights of visiting is getting to experience the art that is housed/on exhibition at the one of which was a few works by Cosmas Shiridzinomwa, works which were part of the 'Our Common Diaries' exhibition. Cosmas participated in the 6 years ago and participated in the 'Five Bhobh' exhibition at the .
