The DLC team tirelessy support many fund raising projects for Animals and Us. Honestly, I have tears in my eyes writing this. This summer has been so, SO hard…I don’t even know where to start.

More dogs are being surrendered than ever. Others are being found abandoned in the scorching heat, sick, injured, starving or in conditions that are honestly hard to look at. 💔 On top of that we have more people leaving the country and we’ve had less fosters and homes than ever before 😞 AND to top it off there are been a horrific number of cases of deadly diseases like Parvo & Ehrlichia.

We’ve seen Mums desperately trying to keep their babies alive, whilst they suffer themselves. Tiny puppies and kittens needing us. Animals that have clearly been suffering for far too long. Some for years!

And the calls and messages just keep coming. Every day and night.

But what else do you do? We aren’t people who can turn away.

Every single one gets into our hearts. They become our babies, our children. We know their faces, their stories, their personalities. We worry about them when we go home. It impacts us more deeply than we could ever put into words.

So when another call comes, even when we have no space and know we can’t afford another vet bill… how do we say no?

And right now we owe OVER AED 650,000 IN VET BILLS. 💔

But this week we have been given some hope. One incredibly generous supporter is MATCHING every dirham of support that goes directly to our vet.
