Some places instantly make you slow down.

Zoe Hora sits high above the Albanian Riviera in the historic village of Dhërmi, where traditional stone houses, winding pathways and breathtaking sea views create one of the most unique stays I’ve seen in Albania.

What I love most is that it feels authentically Albanian while still offering the comfort and style many travellers are looking for. Every May brings back memories…

Before the guests, before the sunsets, before the poolside mornings…

There was a lot of hard work, plenty of laughs, a few ‘what have we taken on?!’ moments… and one very determined husband Alex Booker filling a pool 😃

Looking back at these photos reminds me just how far we’ve come with Simply Albania.

What started as a dream in beautiful Radhimë has become a place where so many guests have created their own memories.

This is the kind of place people book for the space, views and slower pace…
private pool, sea views, and close enough to restaurants but away from the busy spots.

Thinking about Albania but not sure where to base yourself? 🇦🇱

One area I always love recommending is Radhimë / the Vlore coast.

It has that lovely balance of being close to everything, while still feeling calmer and more local than some of the busier summer hotspots.

Why it works so well:
✨ beautiful sea views
✨ easy access to Vlore town
✨ a great base for beach days and exploring
✨ local restaurants and a more relaxed pace
✨ ideal if you want to experience a more authentic side of coastal Albania

It’s the kind of place that works well if you want to explore by day and properly switch off in the evenings.

This is exactly why I love sharing this part of Albania through Simply Albania — not just the well-known spots, but places that help you feel the destination a little more.

🏨 Hotel Spotlight: Regina Palm Resort, Radhimë (Vlore area)

One of the areas I know particularly well along the Albanian coast is Radhimë, just outside Vlore.

You get calm, clear water, beautiful views and a more relaxed feel than some of the busier resorts, ideal if you want a slower pace without feeling remote.

It’s also one of the areas where you can find great-value all-inclusive options, which is still relatively rare in Albania compared to other Mediterranean destinations.

Hotels like Regina Palm are a good example of the kind of stays people often enjoy here — beachfront, easy-going, and excellent value for money.

There’s also a new promenade currently being built along this stretch of coast, which will only make the area more attractive over the next couple of years (and likely push prices up once it’s completed).
