Between one floor and the next, Rio reveals itself in every detail at Rioca.
 
The stairs on the first floor of our hotels are inspired by the iconic Escadaria Selarón, located between the neighborhoods of Santa Teresa and Lapa in Rio de Janeiro.
 
Created by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, the staircase began as a personal project in the 1990s, when he decided to renovate the steps in front of his home. What started as a hobby became a living work of art, stretching around 125 meters and featuring more than 2,000 tiles from all over the world, with a strong presence of the colors of the Brazilian flag.
 
More than a passageway, it is an expression of art, color, and Carioca identity.
