CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF STORM BOY 🌊 The SAFC was delighted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of STORM BOY last month with a special screening presented in partnership with 891 ABC Adelaide and The Mercury – and now you can see it on the big screen too. Released in 1976, STORM BOY is one of Australia’s most beloved and enduring films, inspiring and entertaining generations of children. Relive the magic on Sunday, 13 September at The Mercury, with a special double feature of STORM BOY and PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK co-presented by the SAFC.

🎉NEWS!🎉 Adelaide-born actor and screen creative Damon Herriman was presented with the CinefestOZ 2026 Screen Legend Award, which honours an Australian actor or filmmaker of international repute. He also took out Best Screenplay in the CinefestOZ Short Film Awards for CANDY BAR.

And SA made short film LIABILITY from writer/director David Daradan and producer Jasmine J. Leech won the Diversity & Inclusion Award. The short was produced through The Mercury Quicksilver initiative with support from the SAFC.

🏆️ SAFC supported horror BRING HER BACK won the Production Design for a Feature Film Award for a team including SA's Erica Ockenden and the Make-Up, Prosthetic Make-Up or Hair Design Award for a team including SA's Rebecca Buratto

🏆️ SA Costume Designer Heather Wallace won the Costume Design for a Feature Film Award for her work on Warwick Thornton's WOLFRAM
