📞 A QUICK MESSAGE FROM STANFORD HIRE
Firstly, apologies to anyone whose call I’ve missed lately — or if you’ve caught me at the wrong time and I’ve sounded a little grumpy 😂
We receive a huge number of calls every week. Between genuine bookings, general job questions, people chasing deals, pricing enquiries and an unbelievable amount of spam calls, it can get pretty hectic.
I’m more than happy to take bookings, answer questions and liaise with customers — that’s absolutely not the problem.
I just ask that, where possible, please send me a text first.
The biggest reason is simple: a large part of my day is spent driving between deliveries and pickups. If you call me while I’m driving, I can’t safely open the booking app, check machine availability, look at your previous booking, work out delivery times or properly confirm anything for you.
With a text, I can get to it as soon as I’m stopped and actually give you the right answer rather than trying to remember everything while I’m on the road.
It also gives me something to refer back to when organising the day, which makes life considerably easier.
And while we’re here 😂 — if you need a machine for 3 days but tell me you’re only planning to use it for an hour and ask if I can do a better deal, unfortunately the answer is still no. The machine is unavailable to everyone else for those 3 days, regardless of how many engine hours you put on it.
For general questions about what machine might suit your job, please also make use of the AI assistant on the Stanford Hire website. It can answer a lot of common job and machine questions straight away.
🚨 If you currently have one of our machines and have a breakdown, emergency or safety issue — please call.
Otherwise, text is preferred for:
✅ Bookings
✅ Availability
✅ Delivery and pickup enquiries
✅ Pricing
✅ General questions
✅ Changes to existing bookings
I’m currently the delivery driver, booking person, mechanic, machine cleaner, scheduler and everything else in between, so sometimes the phone simply rings at the worst possible moment.
If I miss your call, I’m not ignoring you — send me a text and I’ll get to it as soon as I can.
Thanks for understanding, and thank you for keeping Stanford Hire so busy. We genuinely appreciate it. 👍
