It’s Hooded Plover nesting season!

Did you know the Hooded Plover is Australia’s most threatened beach-nesting bird?

These little shorebirds make their nests right on the sand, which means their eggs and tiny chicks can be very hard to spot.

If you’re heading out to enjoy our beautiful coastline, please help give them the best chance to thrive:

🐾 Keep dogs on a lead where required
🚶 Stay clear of fenced and signposted nesting areas
🌊 Walk along the water’s edge past nesting areas
👀 Keep an eye out for these special little locals

Nesting season runs from August to March, so a little extra care while enjoying the beach can make a big difference.

We've got a new member of the Moana Beach Tourist Park team... but there's just one problem — it needs a name! 🤔

Our hardworking housekeeping crew has a shiny new cleaning buggy, and we think it deserves a name as fun as it is!
