Aloomba Hotel Country Pub set amongst the Canefields in Nth Qld. It is approx 3kms Sth of Gordonvale. It is the third Hotel as the previous ones were burnt down.

Kitchen under renovation but plenty of cold drinks and snacks! It was bought from the brewery and became privately owned in 1983 by Tom Hedley, then the Robson family bought it in 1985. It was then purchased by Peter & Maxine in 1988.(present owners)

We have been approached by the members of the Innisfail Community Support Centre. They are travelling from Cardwell to Cairns visiting small hamlets and towns, such as Aloomba to identify gaps in community support.
We will distribute a survey asking Aloomba residents for input regarding the lack of community services such as regular public transport to Cairns for expamle.
The survey form will then be forwarded to the group. ICSC are seeking funding for services and are trying to identify where contracts are in place for services but are not supplied.
They also dropped off a few copies of their "Talk About" news, which are available from the post office.
