A further 80mm overnight, and for today at least, we know that life will be okay 🙏

Thank you sincerely to our guests who return to the Granite Belt time and time again despite lower dam levels, rainy or windy forecasts or fire bans. We never take you for granted!

This morning, Lake Edith is full and spilling into Lake Amiens. Twas dry around this place, so a ways to go to spill over down to Foxbar Falls, but really we are already so lucky 🍾

We can now look forward to superb summer farming and camping conditions - hope to see you here 😎

☔️☔️ Have you been waiting to hear how we've fared in this lovely rain event? ☔️☔️

Since Wednesday, we've received a steady 130mm, bringing the October total past 200mm 🙏😎

This means the dams are looking much improved just from overhead falls and localised run off.

The biggest impact on the dams relies on the creek running into them, and the creek was very very empty, with plenty of holes to fill along the way. The creek flow has almost made it to the first dam at Jacks Corner 🥳

What we really need is the forecast of a few more inches over the upcoming to come to fruition, but regardless this rain is something to celebrate.

Our road access and campsites are fully operational, and we remain open for business. The granite soil drains very well here.

Lily and I took a walk down to the falls to check the local flow there, so this photo can act as a 'before' shot if things get wetter from here - you can see where the high water line is 🐸🦆

FYI if you are coming here in the coming days; There is a bushfire south of here that is of no danger to our campground....

There is a fire in NSW, 30km east of Stanthorpe. It is also no danger to the campground, and if the wind forecast is correct, should also present no problem to us.
YES, it is dry and getting dusty. A drop of rain would be good for many reasons.

My 1st time up Mt Norman in Girraween NP. A pretty special view from the top. Some rock climbing experience is needed to get to the summit.
