It's Friday, and for some lucky people, the start of a very long weekend!

Either way, we're pretty happy about it, and we've got a good Friday lined up at The North Star.

It's Cocktails by the Clock at The North Star today, and the earlier you get here, the less you pay!

🍹 2pm - 3pm – $14 select cocktails
🍸 3pm - 4pm – $15 select cocktails
🍹 4pm - 5pm – $16 select cocktails

And because cocktails are better with good company, we've got @ live from 2–5pm and 2-for-1 pizzas to keep you going. 🍕🎶

So apparently Happy Hour was invented by American sailors back in 1913. Back then Happy Hours were filled with live music, boxing, movies and a bit of good old-fashioned entertainment. Cheaper drinks weren't even part of the deal.

Then along came Prohibition, when people started enjoying a drink or two before dinner, and eventually Happy Hour became the knock-off drinks at knock-down prices we know (and love) today.

And even back then, Happy Hour was never necessarily just an hour. Just like us, those early sailors knew how to stretch out a good time.

Fast forward more than 100 years, and we're keeping the tradition alive at The North Star.

Some people have a local, and some people have very good reasons to have a local. ⭐

Happy Hour Monday to Friday, $10 bar snacks, Wednesday Parma Night, live music, Sunday cocktails from $14... We reckon they're pretty good reasons.

And that's before we even get started on the perks of being a Mad Hatter or Mona Lisa. (Yes, we know. It's an odd name for our members program. Great perks though. 🤪)

There's usually a pretty good excuse to find yourself at The North Star.

And sometimes that excuse is as simple as the crumbed cauliflower.
Yes, it really is a must-try.

Our indoor Garden Bar has a bit of a leafy legend of its own, with a beautiful ficus tree bringing the outdoors in and giving you a pretty special spot to settle in for a drink.

And we all know, you never argue with Friday.

So take the call and get yourself down to the North Star! Happy Hour is ON from 3.30–6pm, with a cracking food and drinks menu and a very good reason to leave those emails until Monday.

Then, just as you're thinking about heading home, Glen Brodie kicks off the live tunes from 6pm. 🎸

Don't know about you, but it's all but Friday, and we've a serious hankering for a cocktail. 🍸

And as luck would have it, Thursday also happens to be $22 Pizza Night at The North Star.

Happy Hour's on from 3:30–6pm, pizzas from 5pm.

A cocktail and a pizza? That's dinner sorted. And a pretty decent head start on the weekend.
