A night to remember.

On Friday evening, we welcomed the inaugural Ballarat Grand Debutante Ball to Mercure Ballarat, and what an incredible night it was.

From the elegant gowns and sharp suits to the months of dedication and practice that led to this moment, every student should be incredibly proud. The ballroom was filled with excitement, proud families and plenty of unforgettable memories.

We’re thrilled to see an event like this brought to Ballarat and to have been part of such a special occasion for so many local families.

A huge thank you to the team behind Ballarat Grand Debutante for bringing this vision to life, and to every student, parent, supporter and volunteer who made the evening so special.

Congratulations to all of the debutantes and their partners. You looked incredible, and it was a privilege to celebrate this milestone with you.

This weekend’s was one for the books.

From steam train rides and horse-drawn carriages rolling through town, to the incredible Heritage Harvest Weekend at , Ballarat absolutely came to life this week.

One of the biggest highlights was the annual at , celebrating its 10th year this year. An amazing effort and such an iconic part of the festival weekend.

There’s something really special about Ballarat in the colder months. The heritage buildings, the autumn leaves, cosy pubs, historic streets and the way the whole city feels during weekends like this make it one of the best regional Victorian escapes during autumn and winter.

Whether you travelled from Melbourne for a weekend away, explored the Central Highlands for a country Victoria road trip or planned a cosy regional getaway filled with good food, local events and history, this weekend was such a beautiful reminder of what makes Ballarat so special.

We love being part of a town so deeply steeped in history and seeing visitors experience everything from heritage attractions and local hospitality to live entertainment, festivals and iconic Ballarat landmarks.

Thank you to everybody who chose to stay with us and spend the weekend exploring everything Ballarat has to offer. We loved seeing the city buzzing.

In celebration of Ballarat Heritage Festival, we’re reflecting on a piece of our own local history.

Our story runs deeper than the bricks themselves. Mercure Ballarat stands on the historic grounds of Golden Point, at the heart of Ballarat’s 1850s gold rush. Located within the historic Golden Point area, Mercure Ballarat sits near the path of the famous Main Lead, the buried gold-bearing riverbed that helped shape the city’s fortune and gave Main Road its name.

Long before it became a hotel, this stretch of road welcomed travellers, miners and newcomers arriving on the goldfields. Today, our gardens and grounds continue that sense of place, offering guests the chance to stay surrounded by one of Ballarat’s richest pieces of history.
