Dusodie Holiday Farm is set on the banks of the Chichester River, in the foothills of the Chichester State Forest, 20 minutes from Dungog, 1.5 hours from Newcastle and 5 minutes from Chichester Dam, State forests and the Barrington Tops. A great family getaway, where parents can relax while the children enjoy the freedom of a country lifestyle. Wake to the sounds of abundant bird life & inhale the

crisp, clean country air. You can choose the accommodation that suits you, either a self contained cottage, or a cabin that over looks the river. The cottage has two bedrooms; one double and the other with two triple bunk beds. There is a separate flat around the back with another triple bunk and it’s own ensuite. There are full kitchen facilities and an indoor bathroom and toilet, wood heater, air conditioning and your own BBQ area. The Cabin has one double room, with two single beds and a futon sofa bed in the lounge room area. There is plenty to do during your stay, although many parents take the time to relax with a good book and a glass of wine, while the children play in the cubby, sandpit or test their acrobatic skills on the 14 foot trampoline. Dusodie appeals to families with its focus on the contentment and well being of the children, in a safe and nurturing environment. Hand Feed the Farm Animals - Feeding occurs in the afternoons or by prior arrangement to accommodate both guests and their hosts. Friendly farm animals include chickens, ducks, goats, cows & horses ( don't forget Mikka the cat who really thinks he's a dog and Nyx & Narla the dogs who think they are people ! ) We also have two bottle fed lambs. Also look out for bandicoots, possums, platypus, native bats,frogs and more native fauna right at your doorstep. Our guests can enjoy birdwatching ( bower birds, king parrots, finches, lorrikeets, honey eaters and more) It is simply a lovely place to be. Fish our Dams for Yabbies or Perch - We supply fishing rods and tackle but you have to dig for your own worms. Swim in the River or Explore upstream in the Row Boat - Our River Bank has a romantic and old world charm that has hosted weddings and inspired proposals. A Short drive to the Chichester State Forest - Bush walkers can explore the many tracks only a short drive from Dusodie and then return to enjoy hot showers & a cosy campfire in the evening. Scenic Forest Drives wind through the Chichester State Forest & Barrington Tops National Parks as far as Gloucester to the North & Scone to the West. Come and see why this area has achieved World Heritage Listing

It is with deep regret and much consideration that we will be closing the doors on Dusodie Holiday Farm from the 14th of October 2024.
Due to the current financial climate, we have had much reduced customers and increasing costs. It has not been viable since COVID started and we can no longer carry the losses.
Thank you to everyone for your support over the years and we will miss you all.
If anyone would like a last visit, we have plenty of vacancies between now and then.
Best wishes to everyone and we'll see what's at the end of the rainbow.

Today's fresh harvest.
Eggs, chillies, beans, a variety of tomatoes, finger limes, cherry guava, passionfruit and a single mandarin. Looks like I'm having a spiced omelette followed by a fruit salad. Too much for just 1 person, wish I had some guests to share with.
There are also lots of healthy herbs and spices growing to create a great flavour sensation.
