Now we know why it’s called The Steps.

This stretch of the Barrington River runs over a series of natural rock ledges that form small rapids and miniature waterfalls. When the water drops over each layer, it really does look like steps leading down the river.

It’s one of those simple, raw features that makes this place what it is. Great for a paddle, a swim, or just sitting on the rocks and watching the water roll through.
