Melbourne Backline Hire

Nice to see two of our Ludwig Classic Maple kits (our white marine pearl and our green sparkle) coming together for the greater good of the drumming community.

Art Cruz, drummer of Lamb of God, did a drum master class clinic at Drumtek Australia last Monday (5th of October), they were in need of a two bass drum mega Ludwig kit, and well, we were more than happy to step up to the plate and supply a kit (or two). It was a bit of a Frankenstein splicing two different colour kits together, but it kinda looked cool in the end.

Drumtek and Ludwig Drums Australia have been very kind to Melbourne Backline Hire over the years, so we were happy to return the favour.

With that said.......thanks to Frank and James at Drumtek Australia and Paul Luck at Ludwig Drums Australia / Dynamic Music for having us on board, it was an absolute pleasure.

2027 just keeps getting better!

Not only are The Hellacopters & Gluecifer touring together, one of the greatest double header packages ever, now Florida Death Metal legends Deicide are touring!!!!!

It's been 20 odd years since both The Hellacopters and Deicide have toured here, and they're both coming back with in months of each other. Melbourne Backline Hire is incredible honoured & privileged to be looking after backline for both tours! ⚡️🎶❤️😎🤘

Get your tickets now, before both tours completely sell out, which they will, guaranteed

R.I.P Gary "angry" Anderson! 🥲

It was an absolute pleasure meeting you, and supplying backline / guitar tech'n for Rose Tattoo.

What an opportunity, and a privilege.

As a long time fan of Rose Tattoo, this was definitely one ticked off the bucket list. ❤️⚡️😎🎶

I hope you find peace and happiness wherever you are. 🙏

Back from the shop, and ready to rock!

It's good to have our Gibson SJ (Super Jumbo) 200 all set up with 12 gauge strings and a brand new LR Baggs pickup installed. And our Gibson Hummingbird freshly set up with 11 gauge strings and a Fishman pickup. These two beauties sound absolutely amazing!

Backline aside, we also rent out guitars.

We have around 80 electric and acoustic guitars & basses in our inventory, ranging from newer models, reissue, custom models, and super rare vintage models.

If you're in need of a rental guitar or bass, then chances are we have it.

Then there was that time 9 years ago when Jan aka Hellhammer from Norwegian black metal legends The True Mayhem stopped on by to say hello, hang out, and play some jazz on our early 70's script badge Rogers kit.

Extreme metal drumming aside, as we all know how good he is at that, Jan has some well crafted and impressive chops when it comes to trad jazz drumming. He's also a super lovely guy too.

The things you find on the inter-web!

Here's a little video that was made about Melbourne Backline Hire about 5 years ago, when we were knee deep in Covid, amid countless lockdowns. It was a bizarre moment in time when the future of our industry looked incredible bleak.

It's weird to look at this now, as so much has changed since then.
