ibulation is 110 km north of Cairns and is located within the heart of the Daintree National Park and Wet Tropics World Heritage area. The Daintree Rainforest is home to some of the oldest rainforest on earth with more than 3,000 species of plants and 315 mammal species, 13 of which are indigenous only to the Daintree area. This World Heritage listed rainforest is adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef, located 19km due east. The Daintree is the only destination in the world where two World Heritage areas meet. The journey to Cape Tribulation from Cairns requires the crossing of the Daintree River on a car ferry, adding to the charm and overall experience. The scenic road is sealed through to Cape Tribulation, ensuring easy access. Along with the Turtle Rock Cafe and Ocean Safari, the Safari Lodge site offers a complete rainforest retreat featuring onsite accommodation, dining and Great Barrier Reef touring. Meet the Bennett’s tree-kangaroo 🌿🦘

One of only two tree-kangaroo species found in Australia, Bennett’s tree-kangaroos live in a small pocket of rainforest north of the Daintree River.

They’re specially adapted for life in the canopy, with strong forelimbs, broad feet and a long tail for balance.

Spotting one in the wild? Very lucky. 👀
