We’re excited to welcome Sue Williams to Snake Creek Cattle Company for a two-day Ranch Riding Clinic on 28 & 29 November.

With over 40 years of experience as a professional horse trainer, Sue has trained and shown horses to State and National level across both Western and English disciplines and continues to successfully compete in Ranch events today.

And it’s not just about the riding — we’ll take care of the hospitality too. Arrive Friday afternoon, settle your horse into their secure yard and make yourself at home in our Ranch Camp. Saturday and Sunday mornings begin with breakfast at the Farm Club Café, followed by a full day in the saddle, before coming together Saturday evening for our signature Dinner Under the Stars.

Celebrating Day of the Cowgirl

Today we celebrate the women who continue to shape Western culture — the horsewomen, cattlewomen, competitors, trainers, business owners and all-round cowgirls who aren’t afraid to work hard, back themselves and pave their own way.

Last year at Dallas Down Under, we had the chance to talk about the strength, passion and influence of women within the Western industry. From those who came before us to the next generation coming through, there’s no shortage of powerful women making their mark.

This light filled room is themed in the style of the history of the Australian wool trade. This room features a queen bed, a vintage built in wardrobe and two large windows letting in lots of light. Located just down the hall there is a newly renovated bathroom for the guests to use.

For many years, wool was the most important product to the Australian economy. The wool industry dates from 1797, Spanish merino sheep were imported to attempt to start a wool industry. Up until then, the only sheep in the colony were the fat-tailed sheep which the First Fleet brought with it from the Cape of Good Hope. This room is an ode to the pioneers of the wool industry.

Located just down the hall there is a newly renovated bathroom for the guests to use. The room also has a en-suite lounge area, that can be booked separately.

Imagine, if you will, that it’s 1898, you’re a traveller in a horsedrawn Cobb & Co. mail coach. You’ve paid the equivalent of nearly two weeks wages for your ticket and limited your worldly belongings to the stipulated 14 pounds . The long coach journey is scheduled to take three days, with food and lodging provided at bush inns along the way. Your next stop will be Storybank in Mandurama, where you will spend the night in a themed Cobb & Co Coaches Room.
