This is my 2nd visit to Mai Tai - my partner came this time too - he'd never been and we enjoyed our stay so much. It is off the beaten track so you do need to hire a car but Andre's hospitality and knowledge of the area is exceptional. We can't speak more highly of him, the rooms, the views and breakfast. The rooms are done in a Balanese style which is nice and relaxing Can't wait until we see you again 😊😊

A Balinese-style resort nestled in the heart of the rainforest. André is a very friendly and helpful host who also provides excellent tips for excursions. There's a lovely outdoor pool with sun loungers and views of the rainforest. The beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful and freshly prepared daily, including a fruit platter. We thank André for his hospitality and the interesting conversations and wish him all the best.

Mitten im Regenwald gelegenes Resort im balinesischen Stil. André ist ein sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, der auch super Tipps für Ausflüge gibt. Schöner Aussenpool mit Liegemöglichkeit und Blick auf den Regenwald. Betten sehr bequem. Frühstück reichlich und täglich frisch zubereitet, u.a. mit Obstteller. Wir danken André für seine Gastfreundschaft, die interessanten Gespräche und wünschen alles Gute.

We are a couple who had two wonderful stays at Mai Tai Resort in June. The place is beautifully decorated in Balinese style, has a pool area with wonderful views and is located in a peaceful area.
André was a wonderful host, with good communication about the reservation and helpful with making reservations for activities. The breakfast was good, and we especially appreciated the long and soulful talks with André in the mornings, he is really a kind soul and a great host.
We first stayed there for 3 days, and we liked it so much that we came back for another 3-day stay a week later.
We highly recommend Mai Tai Resort for people who just want to relax, or who want a good base for doing activities in the area.

A Indonesian-style retreat about a 15 minute drive from Port Douglas with beautiful rainforest and coastal views from the communal dining room/terrace and pool (both areas are small but lovely to hang out at). We both preferred to stay out of PD and visit it rather than the other way around! Andre is a fantastic host, always on hand to help or provide advice on local activities and dining options (limited locally but there is a great Thai in Mossman at which you can dine in or takeaway and eat on the terrace at this property - Andre will provide plates and cutlery). Large bed with a beautiful canopy and a delicious fresh-fruit, yoghurt, and croissant/toast breakfast each morning. The steep drive way may surprise you when you first arrive but continue up for the fantastic views! Mossman Gorge, PD's crocodile viewing bridge and the Cape Tribulation drive are all must dos from Mai Tai.
