Your estate is looking good after the rain ( and possibly more on its way).The broad leaf seedlings in the first few photos are Stuarts pea, they are coming up everywhere. The saltbush is getting a haircut and the ones pruned a few weeks ago are reshooting already . The bowerbirds have been busy plus the Ward river is having a good run, so the yabbies will be happy. Talk about settle the dust in your estate. The village was under a couple of good storms this afternoon and we received another 25mm , so a great follow-up from a few days ago. The dam has started to get a trickle into it so the yabbies will be happy (the turtle is already on its way ), a green tinge to the landscape has started and we even managed to capture a very rare and beautiful sight....a basset in full flight. Your estate is responding well from the rain with a green tinge sprouting everywhere. Chris has been pruning the saltbush and most things are having a fresh flush of flowers. The sheep got a good wash as well. Safe travels everyone.

Your village has been very fortunate with nearly a couple of inches of slow steady rain the last few days. Rogers garden has taken off ( random sweet potatoes popping up all over) and by next week , the paddocks and park will looking rather green and fresh. Safe travels!

Parklife is slowing down so more time in Rogers garden!, the days are getting longer hence most things are running to seed. We generally let it all go to flower for a few reasons, 1: the birds go for the flower seeds and leave everything else alone, 2: alot of people have never seen what their vegetables look like in flower, so its rather educational for them and 3: if we get a wet summer with a few showers every couple of weeks, we will have random lettuce, bok choy and tomatoes popping up all over the place. Happy World Tourism Day everyone! Thankyou for visiting the Evening Star and south west QLD . Things are starting to slow down for 2026, so we can start to focus on some exciting new experiences for you in 2027. Safe travels everybody.

Been a warm and dry few days in your village and we are looking for some rain soon. The longer days are getting some good growth in Rogers garden and plenty of regeneration tomatoes are starting to emerge all over the place. Safe travels and only another 4 weeks or so until we wind down for 2027.

Its National Bilby Day! The village went into the Save The Bilby Fund this morning and it was a hive of activity, with visitors and locals all getting involved. We also had Beck from Save The Bilby Fund draw the raffle of the bilby creations by Colleen Sylvester and we are glad to announce that Lyn from QLD got the baby bilby package and Kevin from VIC got the big bilby ( well done). Now the big news is that over the course of the raffle, including the knitted bilbies by both Colleen and Joan, the ladies have raised just over $1800 for Save The Bilby Fund!, great work once again and thank you to everyone for their support. Spring has sprung in your village. It has been warm and dry but the bottle brush is loving it, the saltbush is heavy set with seed and Rogers vegetable garden is back on the mend after the few cold snaps. Even Lamby, Marbles and Rosie have been out for walk with junior management. Safe travels everyone.

Parklife has been very relaxing over the weekend. The shower of rain last week settled the dust and freshened up your village nicely. Rod found another old leg vice under a tree here somewhere so he set it up in the garden beside the other. Safe travels everyone!
