Bushfire Watch and Act - Browns Road, Ranelagh - Monitor conditions as they are changing

Tasmania Fire Service has issued a Bushfire Watch and Act for Browns Road, Ranelagh - Monitor conditions as they are changing.

There is a fire at Fletchers Hill, Ranelagh. The fire is travelling towards Browns Road, Ranelagh.

The fire is expected to difficult to control.

Embers, smoke, and ash may threaten you and your home before the main fire. It may become difficult to see and breathe.

Tasmania Fire Service and Parks and Wildlife Service are attending.

Conditions are expected to be changeable.

Take action now to protect yourself, your family, and your home.

If you have a bushfire plan, check it now.

Decide early if you are going to leave, and make sure you have a clear path to a safer place.

If you are not prepared for a bushfire, be ready to leave for a safer place. If you stay, your home may not be defendable.

Only travel if it is safe for you to do so.

Visited 7k Distillery and Derwent Estate vinyard today! Superb tastings followed by lunch....so worth a visit! The local New Norfolk market was also so enjoyable! Great street food

💧 Our tap water is some of the best in the country, and it's official! 💧

The Huon Valley's Rocky Creek water supply has been named runner-up in Australia's Best Tasting Tap Water competition, missing out on the top spot by just ONE point. 🥈

After taking out Tasmania's title earlier this year, Rocky Creek went head-to-head with the best tap water from across the country. In a blind tasting, it was judged on colour, clarity, odour and taste, and came within a whisker of first place.

We're so lucky to live in such a pristine part of the world. 🌿 Rocky Creek's result is a reminder of how special our natural environment is. Clean, healthy waterways start with the people who live alongside them, so a big thank you to everyone across the valley who helps care for our rivers and creeks.
