A huge thank you to the Greta Football Netball Club and the wider Greta community for their incredible support of Northeast Health Wangaratta's Oncology Unit.

Through their 13th annual fundraising dinner, the club raised an amazing $3,500 to support local cancer care. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, volunteers, attendees and supporters, these funds will help our Oncology Unit continue providing exceptional care and support to patients and families close to home.

Knowing every dollar raised stays right here in our local community makes this contribution even more meaningful.

Speed remains one of the biggest factors in crashes on Victorian roads, contributing to at least 30% of fatal crashes on our roads.

While all levels of speeding are dangerous, it has been estimated that the majority of speeding related trauma is due to drivers who drive at less than 10 km/h over the speed limit.

Driving “a little bit over the limit” matters. Exceeding the speed limit by as little as 5 km/h increases crash risk by 44%.

The penalty for speeding is a minimum fine of $254, demerit points and potential loss of licence.

Drive to the conditions and always drive within the speed limit.

This July in the lead up to Road Safety Round, we are highlighting the importance of being the difference.
