There’s a small kind of adventure waiting down at the Dew Rivulet…
No signs, no guarantees — just still water, soft footsteps and a bit of patience ✨🌿
If you’re lucky, you’ll spot the gentle ripple before you see it… a platypus moving quietly through its world, completely undisturbed 🦆
It’s not about ticking a box — it’s about being present long enough for something special to happen.

Agree about great food in Southern Tasmania! Wonderful cellar door & excellent wines at Bream Creek Wines which we serve with our Rathmore candlelit homestead dinners!🥂🥂

Southern Tasmania has just been named one of National Geographic's Best Food Destinations for 2026, recognising a powerful revival of Palawa (Tasmanian Aboriginal) food traditions alongside our world-class produce and seafood.

From native ingredients like wattleseed, pepperberry and Angasi oysters to foraging walks at piyura kitina/Risdon Cove and chefs weaving these flavours into their menus, the region is beginning to tell much deeper stories of Country through food.

It’s still an emerging space, but this global spotlight shows how special, and how culturally rich, Southern Tasmania’s food future really is.

The day doesn’t end loudly out here… it just softens.
Light slips across the paddocks, the air cools, and everything settles into its own rhythm 🌅🌿
It’s not a show — it’s a quiet kind of beauty. The kind you only notice when you stop rushing.
And somehow, that’s what makes it stay with you.

Nothing says Tasmania like this… rolling landscapes, fresh Highland air, and the neighbours’s first lambs of the season finding their feet 🐑✨
We’re so lucky to call this place home.
